Amendments to zoning bill could make it really, really, really hard to run a bar or liquor store (UPDATED)

UPDATE: By a vote of 11-3, the amendment on bars and liquor stores was defeated at tonight's City Council meeting. Nick Mosby, Bill Henry, and Mary Pat Clarke voted in favor of them. Robert Curran abstained.

Transform, the bill that would rewrite the city's zoning code, passed.

Mosby began his remarks by saying, "I stand before you today utterly disappointed."

He said the amendments were singled out by outsiders and called the campaign against them "irresponsible."

"I'm not sure what was learned from the events of April and May of last year," he said.
