Charm City Klezmer Holiday Dance Party

Dec. 26

Klezmer is the Jewish Eastern European style of maximalist dance music, usually employing a celebratory cacophony of instruments such as violin, clarinet, accordion, and trombone and it is, despite its acoustic qualities, rather raucous and fun. Join the city’s most well-known Klezmer group, Charm City Klezmer, fronted by Judith Geller and Michael Raitzyk and featuring some of their children and a number of other local musicians, for a night of dancing. If you’re new to klezmer, don’t worry too much because Geller can coach you on your yiddish dancing. 8 p.m., Creative Alliance, 3134 Eastern Ave., (410) 276-1651, creativealiance.org, $15-$21.
