Baltimore Rock Opera Society presents New Year's 3084: Stardust Lazerdong's Big Ball

Dec. 31

The new year is about celebrating the past and future all at once, so what better way to bring in 2016 than with retro-futuristic debauchery? By now, you might be tired of ’80s-themed parties, but you haven’t seen anything until, in the words of the Baltimore Rock Opera Society, “the ’80s get transported 3,000 years into the future and a giant spandex neon glitter monster vomits on everyone.” Hosted by Stardust Lazerdong, rock star of the year 3084, the BROS’ New Year’s bash features a Daft Punk cover band, BROS classics from the BROS House Band, and a preview of songs from BROS’ next rock opera “Chronoshred” performed by the Chronicshredders. Finally, 2016 will be marked by the premiere of a new BROS video and an “actual robot” DJing your favorite ’80s dance tunes. Come dressed in futurist fashions from the ’80s, or conversely, what you imagine ’80s parties will look like in the distant future. 9 p.m., Ottobar, 2549 N. Howard St., (410) 662-0069, baltimorerockopera.org, $15. (Maura Callahan)
