Put Those Burnt Cookies to Good Use

Put Those Burnt Cookies to Good Use

You burnt the Christmas cookies. You're a failure. You ruined Christmas. You have trays upon trays of ruined cookies and a smoky kitchen and ringing fire alarm. What do you do? You can't send out these culinary disasters to family and friends, because they'll probably wonder why they even let you near an oven, and throwing them away would admit defeat. So you have to get creative! A fun craft for kids, or kids-at-heart-who-can't-bake-for-shit, is to dip the burnt cookies in peanut butter or even melted caramel and chocolate and roll it around in bird seed. Then use icing to secure a piece of string to the top of the cookie and hang it on branches and windowsills and ta-da! Now you have adorable individual, and fully edible, bird feeders. It'll be all Pinterest-y up in this bitch! Bird-watching is fun, right? It's even more fun when the ruined cookies are gingerbread men, so when the birds come flocking to your feeders, it'll be a horror scene that would make Alfred Hitchcock proud. Plus, birds can't judge you on your cookie catastrophe, they're birds. They eat junk out of the trash. (Gianna DeCarlo)
