There’s almost nothing more American than an eating contest. A true patriot can down 10-plus pies, dogs, burgers…or bowls of pho. Yes, pho is a staple of Vietnamese cuisine, but the only thing more American than competitive dining is imposing American values (like mouth-stuffing) on everything else. And to round out the Americanness, tonight’s competition runs alongside a tap takeover by Oskar Blues Brewery to benefit veterans and families of fallen soldiers.
