Wednesday: "Home Alone" 25th Anniversary

Dec. 2

7 p.m., The Senator Theatre, 5904 York Road, (410) 323-4424,, $9-$11.50.

"Home Alone" is marketed as a family-friendly holiday classic, but its fairly extreme physical comedy may have instilled a festive sense of sadism in an entire generation. Something about Macaulay Culkin smashing a burglar's face with a hot iron or planting a huge nail in the floor to penetrate a burglar's foot perhaps made the children of the ’90s a little bloodthirsty.
