Thursday: Talking Shop: Art + Activism

Mar. 10

7 p.m., The Walters Art Museum, 600 N. Charles St., (443) 388-8980,, free.

In the streets and in galleries, art frequently intersects with political and social activism, especially in Baltimore since the uprising last April. To discuss the relationship between activism and art for The Contemporary’s "Talking Shop" speaker series, artist Tania Bruguera, who was detained for eight months in Cuba for attempting to stage a public performance about freedom of expression, meets with Baltimore producer, writer, and former Black Panther Eddie Conway, who was released from prison in 2014 after serving 44 years for a murder conviction.
