Thursday: Natural Velvet, Split Feet, Daylight Robbery, Pellars

March 31

Chicago's Split Feet (pictured), fronted by Jes Skolnik, one of the most daring and impassioned music writers around right now and also featuring members of Blizzard Babies and Daylight Robbery (who, hey, are also on this bill) construct gloomy, surf-y art punk. Last year's album "Shame Parade," out on Sean Gray's Accidental Guest Recordings, finds room for the fierce 'Cat Mug On Secretaries' Day' and a crestfallen cover of Siouxie and the Banshees' 'Arabian Knights,' and seven other songs. Also on the bill, the similarly jaunty, jangly, dungeon-y post-punk of Natural Velvet and Pellars. 9 p.m., the Windup Space, 12 W. North Ave., (410) 244-8855, thewindupspace.com, $7.
