Thursday: Lynyrd Skynyrd

June 16

Lynyrd Skynyrd has famously lost all but one of its original members in a series of tragic accidents involving airplanes, drunk driving, liver disease, and myocardial infarction, but as long as there is breath in any Van Zant’s lungs, you can expect to hear someone on stage say “turn it up” and then tell Neil Young to shut the fuck up about slavery. As the band and its fans age and ticket prices inflate like it’s still 1979, the concerts include new experiences. A fan writes that he lost his dentures while singing along with “Sweet Home Alabama” in a previous show. And those willing to part with the big bucks for the first 12 rows can get a “VIP Tour Package” that includes a “Custom Lynyrd Skynyrd Free Bird trucker hat” and “Specially-designed Lynyrd Skynyrd Wall Flag" guaranteed to blend in with the decor at your local klavern. 7:30 p.m., Pier Six Pavilion, 731 Eastern Ave., (410) 783-4189,, $39.50-$99.50.
