Thursday: Fit Before Flicks: Tours de Federal Hill Bike Ride #1

July 14

Luxuriating on a hillside and taking in a great movie al fresco is one of life's great pleasures. But if we're being honest, it's about as active as plopping down on a couch and putting on Netflix. Race Pace Bicycles is here to get your blood flowing with a ride on Federal Hill's historic streets ahead of AVAM's Flicks On the Hill screening. Bring a bike or rent one at Race Pace—then prepare for a nice hour-and-a-half ride that will end right back at AVAM, where you can either put down your blanket and secure a spot or head inside and check out "The Big Hope Show" exhibit for free. After that you can laze about with the satisfaction of knowing you weren't a total bump on a log all day. Tonight's movie is the Christopher Guest-directed send-up of dog shows, "Best in Show" (see page 51). 6:30 p.m., Race Pace Bicycles, 1410 Key Highway, (410) 986-0001, racepacebicycles, free.
