Thursday: City Paper Best Of Baltimore

Sept. 21

Perhaps you hadn't heard, but this here City Paper Best of Baltimore issue is the last. As you can imagine, our staff is dealing with some serious emotions, both as people who work hard to bring you this paper each week and as citizens who understand the loss this means for Baltimore. But we still have a job to do, and so we're bottling it up and trying to keep it together a bit at least until tonight, at the annual Best of Baltimore party and after-party, where we fully intend to let loose and revel in what we love (and hate) about this beautiful, maddening city. Join us at Rams Head Live, where you too can drink your feelings at an open bar while nodding to two DJ sets by Dan Deacon and a live performance by this year's Best Live Act, Bond St. District. Then head to The Crown (this year's Best Venue) for the free after-party, where you can hear staffers and contributors read from some of our favorite City Paper stories (starting at 8 p.m.), followed by DJ sets from Station North Sadboi and Amsies (10 p.m.). Best of Baltimore party at 6:30-9:30 p.m., Rams Head Live, 20 Market Place, $35-$40; after-party 8 p.m.-2 a.m., The Crown, 1910 N. Charles St., free. (Maura Callahan)
