Sunday: Spirit Africa: Film and Art Fest

Dec. 6

Noon, Reginald F. Lewis Museum, 830 E. Pratt St., (443) 263-1800,, included with museum admission.

Kwanzaa is still 20 days away, but it’s never too early to appreciate African heritage and culture. Check out a talk and workshop with Dr. Lilian Nabulime, who creates striking, figurative sculptures primarily out of wood to address social, political, and health-related issues in her home country of Uganda. The museum will also exhibit artwork by Nabulime’s students and screen three films about Nelson Mandela in conjunction with their exhibit “Nelson Mandela: Madiba - Photographs of a Legend.”
