Sunday: Death Makes Life Possible

Nov. 1

A day after people paraded around town dressed as ghosts, zombies, and other macabre characters, Creative Alliance is here to tell you Death Makes Life Possible. As in one day you will no longer exist and, if you're buried, your body will deteriorate and, over time, become part of the soil, which is needed to grow new plant life and stuff to sustain life here on our dying planet. There's a documentary called "Death Makes Life Possible" that aims to "transform fear into an inspiration for living and dying well," and this being the Day of the Dead and all, that's going to be screened. Don't worry that one day you will stop breathing, and your mental faculties and physical existence will end, because Death Makes Life Possible. Before the screening there will be a presentation on Mexican stories and customs from the Day of the Dead. 2 p.m., Creative Alliance, 3134 Eastern Ave., (410) 276-1651,, $12, members $9, advance $10, advance members $7.
