Sunday: Buckwheat Zydeco

Aug. 14

8 p.m., Creative Alliance, 3134 Eastern Ave., $20-$30 in advance, $3 more at the door.

Juvenile isn’t the only musician with New Orleans roots in town this week. Tonight’s show was originally supposed to feature musical legend Stanly “Buckwheat” Dural, Jr., but he’s not feeling well. In his place, accordionist and singer C.J. Chenier— son of the founder of zydeco music, Clifton Chenier—will front Buckwheat’s band, Buckwheat Zydeco.
