Sunday: Al Rogers Jr.: "A Bright Hearted" Release Party

Oct. 1

Al Rogers Jr. can meld Baltimore club music with Sade or Dru Hill to make a sound all his own. His versatility allows him to make slower records that are perfect for chilling in the park, or sitting in the room pondering life's greatest greatest quandaries while eating Life Savers gummies. Baby Al, as his family calls him, is a beacon of positive energy that emits different colors of his creative light. Quite naturally his highly anticipated project entitled “BrightHeartedN***a” is dropping on Sept. 29, his mother's birthday. Rogers will perform his new stuff the following Sunday with supporting acts Khameron Gross, Joy Postell, and Cheyanne Givens. If that ain't bright hearted, then everything else is questionable. #SWOOZ. 7 p.m.,The Living Room Social, 1101 Fillmore St.,, $8. (Reginald Thomas II)
