Saturday-Sunday: SCIENCE FAIR!: The Water Ballet

July 30-31 and Aug. 5-7

Maybe you have painful science fair memories. Maybe your volcano never errupted, or maybe it errupted too hard and ended up on the judge's face. Or, perhaps, the science fair was the peak of your childhood. Either way, it would have been better with spandex and synchronized swimming; most things are. Fluid Movement knows this better than anyone else. For the last 15 years, the often-submerged performance art group has relocated fairytales, murder mysteries, and even the film career of Jeff Goldblum to the swimming pool—the ideal theater venue in near triple-digit heat. This time around, Fluid Movement presents a science fair-themed water ballet. But this ain't your neice's trifold project: the show promises reanimated corpses, time travel, and glitter, among other scientific wonders. 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.on  July 30 and 31 at Druid Hill Park Pool, 800 Wyman Park Drive; 9 p.m. on Aug. 5, 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Aug. 6, 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Aug. 7, Patterson Park Pool, 148 S. Linwood Ave., fluidmovement.org, $10 ($15 for night shows). (Maura Callahan)
