Saturday: Craft fairs, bazaars, pop-ups, and more

Nov. 26

Y'all know by now that the hype and frenzy of Black Friday are not really worth it, that the bargains and sales these stores offer are often rather paltry, and that supporting multi-million-dollar big box stores and corporations with your hard-earned-dollars isn't really where it's at. Great! It's always a good idea to support your local businesses, but on this Small Business Saturday there happens to be a bunch of art markets, bazaars, craft fairs, and such all over town where local makers are peddling their wares. Check them out: Holiday Bazaar, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (continues Nov. 27,  and Dec. 3, 4, and 10), Reginald F. Lewis Museum, 830 E. Pratt St., (443) 263-1800, lewismuseum.org; Bazaart Holiday Art Market, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., American Visionary Art Museum, 800 Key Highway, (410) 244-1900, avam.org; Rocket Pop Shop, noon-6 p.m (continues Dec. 17), Rocket to Venus, 3360 Chestnut Ave., (410) 235-7887, rockettovenus.com; Holiday Shopping Flea Market, noon-5 p.m., Windup Space, 12 W. North Ave., (410) 244-8855, thewindupspace.com. (Rebekah Kirkman)
