Saturday: 16th Great Halloween Lantern Parade and Festival

Oct. 24

It’s here: the best holiday of the year, when we can openly perform witchcraft, expose our retractable fangs, and let our horns grow out. Halloween night is still a week away, but we begin celebrating as soon as possible, and what better way than with a parade of massive, electrified lanterns designed by local artists. Get there early so you can make your own lantern and join the procession, and stick around for the Glow Ball After-Party at Creative Alliance. Festival 3:30 p.m., parade 7 p.m., Patterson Park, Eastern and Linwood avenues, (410) 276-1651,, free.
