Monday-Wednesday: BUMP Fest

May 23-25

Now that the Maryland Film Festival whirlwind has gone away for another year, a new film fest dedicated to local, underground filmmakers blows into town. The first Baltimore Underground Motion Picture Festival begins a three-night run a the Senator and will include three feature-length films and assorted shorts from Baltimore auteurs. BUMP organizers promise bizarre shorts, the premier of "Camp Killer," a gory horror flick from local director Shawn Jones; and "Driven To Succeed," a feature-length film which made an appearance at this year's Cannes Film Fest. Baltimore is definitely a film town, so there's plenty of room for a new festival.  Let's hope this one lasts. The Senator Theatre, 5904 York Road, (410) 925-1113, facebook.com/BaltimoreUndergroundMotionPIcture, $10-$15 for one night, $25 for all three. (J.M. Giordano)
