Friday-Sunday: Hold Me While I'm Craven

Feb. 12, 13, 14

There are many things to admire about Ric Royer's Psychic Readings space, though if I had to choose one thing it would be the space's interest in art moments rather than events, which is to say, singular artistic happenings that pop up for an evening or a weekend and then split. It's less about exclusivity, I think, than creating something very special and leaving it at that, you know? The latest happening is "Hold My While I'm Craven," in which Lexie Mountain (a CP contributor) pays tribute to underground filmmaking legends the Kuchar brothers with nods to their legendarily dejected films "Hold Me While I'm Naked" (directed by George Kuchar) and "The Craven Sluck" (directed by Mike Kuchar) in what is referred to as a "theatrical montage." And by the way: Keeping up the momentum of sexual dread, Psychic Readings is also screening 1981's "Possession," on Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. It is inarguably the best movie ever made. 9:30 p.m., Psychic Readings, 219 Park Ave., (410) 960-0086, $8 ($7 if you come alone).
