Friday: Nick Offerman & Megan Mullally – Summer of 69: No Apostrophe

Aug. 19

Nick Offerman, best known for his role as Ron Swanson on "Parks and Recreation"—"The Simpsons" of our time in the same way that "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" is the "Seinfeld" of our time—and his partner Megan Mullally, perhaps best known as Karen from "Will and Grace" (but also, among others, Tammy II on "Parks and Recreation" and, my favorite, Bev in that one episode of "30 Rock") seem like a very cool couple. There's something inspiring about the idea of these two comedic actors who've found love and carved out a very specific character actor-y niche for themselves in Hollywood. Now they come together for a knowing, apparently very lewd night of entertainment that explores their relationship with, it seems, a focus on doing it, with monologue and song and dance. 8 p.m., The Hippodrome Theater, 12 N. Eutaw St., (410) 837-7400,, $58-$80. (Brandon Soderberg)
