Friday: :3lON, Surf Harp, Raindeer, and Us & Us Only

Feb. 12

At the end of last month, :3lON, who City Paper gave the Best R&B award to last year ("his ethereal vocals have the traditional beauty you’d expect in any pop song—think Stevie Wonder or Frank Ocean—but he’s not afraid to completely fuck with his own voice using a vocoder," we wrote), premiered the track 'Many Moons,' a floating slow jam sliced with the noisy energy of club music, over at Afropunk. It's the first track we've been privy to off his upcoming EP, "Ronin," his first solo release, out Feb. 12 on Schwarz's Nina Pop Records. Also out that same day is clattering indie-pop foursome Surf Harp's "PEEL" and a new record from local favorites Raindeer (pictured) titled "HWYL." So there are three stellar Baltimore projects to celebrate at this show, along with a set from Us & Us Only. 9 p.m., The Crown, 1910 N. Charles St., (410) 625-4848,, $7. (Brandon Soderberg)
