Murder Ink: Nine more murders at end of 2015, new year begins with two

This Murder Ink appears online only and covers the murders from Dec. 22 through Jan. 5. There were nine murders to close out the final week of 2015, which saw a record 344 murders. The first few days of the new year were relatively quiet, with only two murders recorded, both on the east side. 

Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015

7:50 p.m. Glenn Keller Jr., a 34-year-old African-American man, was on the 5300 block of Frankford Avenue when someone shot him in the head. A Baltimore Police officer found Keller during routine patrols and had him transported to the hospital where he died. Keller resided nearly a mile away on Amberwood Road

Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015 

12:40 p.m. Police responded to the 800 block of W. Lexington Street in the Poppleton neighborhood, where they found Ma'Ryan Raheem Wilson, a 23-year-old African-American man. He had been shot. Wilson was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015 

8:50 p.m. Darren Thomas, a 28-year-old African-American man, was on the 2300 block of Orleans Street when someone shot him multiple times. Police found him there and medics transported Thomas to a local hospital where he died. Police are looking for witnesses. 

Monday, Dec. 28, 2015

1:20 a.m. Police responded to the 1000 block of Greenmount Avenue after a report of a shooting and found Rykeise Shaw, a 19-year-old African-American man, who had been shot in the head. He was taken to a hospital and he died there.

4:25 p.m. Dominique Harris, a 22-year-old man, was shot multiple times on the 1900 block of Baker Street. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

9:30 p.m. Anthony Robinson, a 46-year-old African-American man, was stabbed in his side on the 1700 block of E. Eager Street. According to police, Robinson's 44-year-old girlfriend, Michelle Wilson, stabbed him. Then the two headed downstairs "to get into a vehicle where the victim then became unresponsive." Robinson died at a hospital; Wilson is held at Central Booking, charged with murder.

Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015

2:42 p.m. Dominick Kane, a 36-year-old African-American man, was shot on the 4500 block of Garrison Boulevard. Police responded, and Kane was transported to the hospital where he died.

Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015

9:50 p.m. Robert Floyd, a 21-year-old African-American man, was found shot to death inside a vacant house on the 500 block of McElderry Street, in Old Town.

Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015

8:15 p.m. Jameel Woodard, a 37-year-old African-American man, was on the unit block of N. Poppleton Street when someone shot him multiple times. Western District officers responded and medics got him to a hospital, where he died.

Friday, Jan. 1, 2016

1:43 p.m. According to police, Alan Floyd, a 61-year-old African-American man, barricaded two people inside a house on the 2300 block of E. Madison Street and lit it on fire. Sharon Williams, a 61-year-old African-American woman who resided on the 1600 block of W. Mount Royal Avenue, died. Police declared Floyd "Public Enemy Number 1" and on Jan. 4 arrested him in a vacant house on the 800 block of Montford Avenue. He is charged with arson and first-degree murder. 

Tuesday, Jan. 5

11:00 a.m. Edward Robert Yesaitis, a 48-year-old man whose race the police did not divulge, was in the Delux Plaza Hotel on the 6400 block of Pulaski Highway when someone beat him to death. Cleaning staff found his body. 

Update: 

On Jan. 4 police arrested T'Ron Dawkins, 24, and charged him in connection with the Oct. 13 murder of Terrell Jones. Jones, a 27-year-old African-American man, was shot in the head while on the 5000 block of Palmer Avenue. Dawkins, who resides on the 2900 block of Keyworth Avenue, is held without bail in Central Booking.
