There were three murders this week and seven nonfatal shootings. By this date last year Baltimore had seen 41 murders as well.

Tuesday, March 10

10:29 p.m. Police were called to a “disturbance” on the 4400 block of Laplata Avenue and found Tameka Mobley, a 34-year-old African-American woman, unconscious. Police report she “had sustained physical trauma,” but did not give details. Mobley, who lived on the block, which is in the Medfield neighborhood, died at a hospital soon after.

Thursday, March 12

1:15 a.m. Terrell Walston, a 28-year-old African-American man, was in a parked vehicle on the 5400 block of Bucknell Road in the Cedonia neighborhood when someone shot him to death. Police were called for “suspicious activity” at 6:38 a.m. and found him.

9:16 p.m. Four miles away and 20 hours later, Davon Jordan, a 30-year-old African-American man, was on the 1900 block of East 28th Street in the Coldstream Homestead Montebello neighborhood when someone stabbed him at least once. Police and medics arrived; Jordan was taken to a hospital where he died.


Police arrested and charged Karon Foster, a 20-year-old African-American man, and Willie Taylor, a 31-year-old African-American man, with first-degree murder in the Nov. 11, 2014 shooting death of Gerard Slowe at 3407 Mondawmin Ave. According to the charging documents, Slowe and two women were renovating a vacant house there when Foster and Taylor walked up to rob one of the women of her cellphone and “Coach bag.” Slowe was shot in the face.
