The city surpassed 200 homicides this year for the third year running. Since 2000, Baltimore has had more than 200 murders every year except 2011, when there were 197.

Sunday, Nov. 30

6:03 p.m. Earl Maurice Wright, a 30-year-old African-American man, was on the 1500 block of Argyle Avenue when someone shot him in the head. Wright was four blocks from his home on the 1600 block of Division Street. Police found him, medics got him to a hospital, and Wright died on Dec. 1. His is the fourth murder in the Upton neighborhood this year. Last month Albert McCoy was beaten on the 500 block of West Lanvale Street, less than half a mile away.

Tuesday, Dec. 2

5:44 p.m. Sasha Bullock, a 47-year-old African-American man, was shot multiple times while on the 2800 block of Ashland Avenue. He died soon after at a hospital. His was the second homicide in the Madison-Eastend neighborhood in 2014.

Sunday, Dec. 7

6:50 p.m. Tymaine Sellman, a 19-year-old African-American man, was on the 500 block of Edgewood Street in Allendale, where he resides, when he was shot multiple times. He died soon after at a hospital. His was the third murder this year in Allendale.


The man killed on the 3900 block of Penhurst Ave. on Dec. 1 was Martel Rooks, a 23-year-old African-American man. Police also identified the person killed on the 3000 block of Wylie Avenue on Nov. 19 as Warren Johnson, a 45-year-old African-American man who lived on the 2600 block of West Cold Spring Lane.
