Seven murders this week in Baltimore, one allegedly over illegal electical connections

The pace has picked up. The police are making arrests, though.

Friday, March 11

3 p.m. Dayshawn Cole, an 18-year-old African-American man, was on the 1500 block of Mountmor Court in Sandtown-Winchester when someone shot him multiple times. Medics rushed him to a hospital; he died two days later, on March 13.

Tuesday, March 15

9 p.m. Kenneth Lamont Collins, a 45-year-old African-American man, was in Rod's Barbershop on the 2400 block of E. Monument Street when two men walked in and shot him, then ran away. Collins died shortly afterward at a hospital. Two days later, police arrested Andre Mosby, 31, and Ignatius Lawrence, 32, and charged both with first degree murder and related crimes. The police said the men were angry at Collins for telling authorities about illegal electric hookups. A BGE spokesman told the Sun that the company was investigating.

Wednesday, March 16

6:36 p.m. Decorey Horne, a 20-year-old African-American man, was on the 2700 block of E. Preston Street, sitting in a silver car with a 27-year-old man, when someone in another car pulled alongside and shot them both. Horne died soon after at a hospital. The other man is expected to survive.

Thursday, March 17

5:20 p.m. Ronnie Wallace, a 36-year-old African-American man was on the 2100 block of W. North Avenue, in the Mondawmin neighborhood, when someone in a silver minivan made a U-turn in front of him. A passenger emerged and shot him and a 49-year-old woman multiple times. The passenger got back in the van and it sped away. Wallace died at Shock Trauma shortly thereafter. The woman is expected to survive.

Friday, March 18

10:45 a.m. Alan Taylor, a 39-year-old African-American man, was on the 4500 block of E. Monument Street when someone shot him. Medics took him to a hospital, and he died on March 20. Taylor lived on the 4900 block of Hamilton Avenue.

9:50 p.m. Antonio Jonathan Hilton, a 23-year-old African-American man, was on the 1200 block of McCulloh Street in Upton when someone shot him in the head. Police heard the shot and found him unresponsive, and he died soon after. Hilton lived on the 3500 block of Virginia Avenue.

Saturday, March 19

9 a.m. Raekwon Parker, a 20-year-old African-American man, was on the 3900 block of St. Ambrose Avenue in Central Park Heights when someone shot him in the chest. He died soon after at a hospital. A second man walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg, and police believe that shooting was related to Parker's murder.
