Man and a Grill: Duane 'Shorty' Davis combines BBQ and activism, in photos

If there's a rally or protest in Baltimore, chances are you'll run into Duane "Shorty" Davis. Davis is a homeless advocate, who sometimes leads marches, volunteers his time, smoker, and culinary skills to community gatherings across the city. He also trained his son Philip, 26, as a pitmaster. The pair operates Shorty's Bootleg BBQ. Check out the rest of our Summer Food issue here.
