More problems for Graziano's Housing Commission. Last week, a broken water pump in Reservoir Hill's Lakeview Towers public housing complex caused residents—many of whom are elderly and with disabilities—to go four days without water or heat in their homes. Residents protested outside of the complex, calling the situation “miserable” and “outrageous,” and after four days of no heat or water, some of the residents were finally transported to hotels while the water pump was being repaired. According to the Sun, the HABC's spokeswoman said that workers found a rare problem that might've contributed to the slow fix (the pump's wheels were worn out), but it seems like regular inspections and maintenance could've prevented this situation entirely.
