Twiztid, the perennial bridesmaids of the rapping clown industry, headlines Rams Head Live. THURSDAY: Mixology takes over The Get Down’s Thursday night event Spirit this week with music from Brightside, Bunk Buddha, Bassdread, Comrade, and J Milly and visuals from Jose Rosero. North Carolina’s Steep Canyon Rangers and Virginia’s Hackensaw Boys pick and grin at Rams Head Live. Matthew Santos, the Lupe Fiasco collaborator and not the West Wing character played by Jimmy Smits, performs at the Ottobar with The Reign Of Kindo and Slow Lights. Swedish death-metal supergroup Arch Enemy plays Baltimore Soundstage with Kreator, Huntress, and Starkill. Don't miss: Flock of Dimes, the solo outlet of Wye Oak’s Jenn Wasner, performs at the 8x10 with Sylvan Esso.
FRIDAY: Japan’s Tsuredure Narinishi Amagumo and Uzuhi, a New York-based Japanese band, will play Charm City Art Space with local punk rockers Clockbreaker, Heavenly Nobodies, and Canker Blossom. Rams Head Live hosts Mobtown Resurrection, an event with local bands including Femi The DriFish & The Out Of Water eXperience, The Last Year, Roll It Over, and Smile Culture. British heavy-metal titan Judas Priest performs at Pier Six Pavilion in support of its latest album, "Redeemer Of Souls." Mixology hosts a house-music happy hour at Red Maple with sets from King Britt, Chris Brooks, Kevin Carter, DJ C Breeze, and more. Don't miss: Baltimore rock stars and tourmates Dope Body and Roomrunner hold a joint release party, for the former’s new album "Lifer" and the latter’s new EP "Separate," at the Metro Gallery with Smoke Bellow and Big Mouth (see page 32).
SATURDAY: Local DIY rap veteran Height plays a rare solo set of new music at The Crown with Clear Channel and Electric Grandmother. Post-hardcore bands The Felix Culpa and Rescuer play the Metro Gallery. Join in with the 99 ½ Blues Band on your favorite 12-bar blues at Midtown BBQ & Brew’s open jam session. Steez Promo presents the Parental Advisory Tour at Rams Head Live with EDM noisemakers including Carnage, Dzeko & Torres, Paris Blohm, and Junkie Kid. Comedian Michal Roxie Johnson performs at the Windup Space, with music provided by Marc Evans’ BIG Little Band, DJ Face, and DJ Shawn Smallwood. Brooklyn singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten headlines the Ottobar. Swedish band Dirty Loops performs at Baltimore Soundstage. SUNDAY: Connecticut indie band The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die puts you through an emotional roller coaster before you’ve even finished reading its name at the Metro Gallery.
MONDAY: The Windup Space hosts the Kunst and Wahnsinn industrial night. New York punk band Leftöver Crack holds Cracktoberfest 2014 at the Ottobar because crack, that’s totally funny, right guys? Guys?
TUESDAY: Atlanta rock quartet Small Reactions plays at Club K.
