What's up with dance music

The next big Steez Promo rave event, the Nightmare Festival, is a scary little post-Halloween shindig going down this Saturday, Nov. 2, on the Ramblewood Campgrounds in Darlington, Md. The event's three dance stages include 30 acts, ranging from English drum 'n' bass vet Adam F to house producer Claude Von Stroke.

DJ AngelBaby's (pictured, top) debut Club mixtape Get Pumped Vol. 1 dropped at the top of 2013 and remains perhaps the biggest release in Baltimore Club music of the year. So it's big news that the popular 92Q personality recently put out the call to producers that she's collecting tracks for the second installment in the series.

Buck Jones, a legendary host and promoter on the Baltimore Club scene, always has a big event in the works. Next up is the Ultimate Homecoming Party, on Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Palladium, on 2900 Liberty Heights. Students from all local high schools are welcome to the party, which runs from 5-11 p.m. and features music from DJ Kali and DJ Major.

DJ Pierre (pictured, bottom), a three-time Best of Baltimore winner (for "Best Club Music DJ" in 2009 and "Best Club Music Producer" in 2011 and 2012), recently launched his own website, djpierreonline.webs.com. The site includes a store where you can buy some of his mix CDs, as well as free downloads of his popular ThEEEE MiXtApEEEE trilogy of mixes.
