What's up with dance music

August saw the release of Get Your Life, a new album of club music presented by Baltimore producer Benny Stixx and Philadelphia's Benja Styles. The LP features the duo's club remixes of everything from an O'Jays classic to recent rap hits by Future, along with contributions from DJ Juwan and Baltimore legend DJ Booman.

Another album was recently released by Baltimore dance legend Ultra Nate (top), who collaborated with fellow hometown veteran DJ Class on the track "Hey DJ" on her seventh full-length album, Hero Worship, released on BluFire/Peace Bisquit in July.

Here's a quick overview of some DJ nights and dance events happening in Baltimore in the next few weeks: The Los Angeles-based but globally popular DJ BL3ND (below) will headline Baltimore Soundstage on Friday, Sept. 6.
