Convicted of making illegal straw campaign donations to his boss, Catherine Pugh, Brown serves as Pugh’s . . . well, we’re not sure. What is certain is that he has a steady job in her public affairs office. Brown pleaded guilty in May to funneling some $18,000 in campaign contributions to Pugh’s election campaign, using the names of his relatives. What is unknown publicly is where all that money actually came from. And Pugh, meanwhile, has declared she stands by Brown. It’d sure be cool if the state prosecutor did more work on this.
