Best Bait and Switch: Pugh’s veto of the $15 minimum wage ordinance

Candidate Catherine Pugh told supporters she was for a $15 citywide minimum wage, so it seemed a lock after the City Council passed the ordinance. Alas, no. Mayor Pugh vetoed the measure, saying it would hurt low-income workers. She now says she’s for a higher state-wide minimum. For now, at least.
