Best Actor: Ensemble, “H.T. Darling’s Incredible Musaeum presents: ‘The Treasures of New Galapagos, Astonishing Acquisitions from the Perisphere’”

We see you, ensemble casts. Submersive Productions’ set designers and puppeteers brought the Peale Museum back to its roots by turning it into a Victorian cabinet of wonders, but it was the cast that activated the space and made the fantastical sci-fi spin convincing. Between Sarah Olmsted Thomas stomping around as the grandiose title character, the penetrative chants of Trustina Sabah as an ambling spirit, the unending slapstick injury of Alex Vernon as the museum proprietor’s dedicated right-hand, and all the rest, the intersections of the actors’ devised storylines made for a show dynamic and gripping enough to see twice or more. Fortunately, the production is set to receive a remount this fall.
