Best Jewelry: Bottle of Bread

229 W. Read St., (443) 963-9388,

This tiny Midtown vintage shop packs a punch but it never feels overcrowded or overwhelming. Instead, owner Morissa Rothman-Pierce carefully curates all of the pieces in her store—and we could say more about the apparel and home goods, but for now, let’s focus on the jewelry. Much of it is made by local artists, like chunky, colorful necklaces with unconventional handmade and -painted wooden and ceramic beads by Morgan Frailey, ceramic pendant/rope necklaces by Red and Shiny, bolo ties by Rockpile Western, rope tassel necklaces by Jane Dylan Cody, kinky-kitsch pierced seashell earrings by Soft Blonde, and many others. While ruminating over which ones to buy (for your best gal and also for yourself, because you deserve it), it may be hard to resist picking up a new Tina Haines mug or a Beth Hoeckel print too; so it goes.
