Baltimore has become something of a brew town, but now distilleries are getting into the act. Baltimore Whiskey Company is waiting on its bourbon and rye to age properly, but in the meantime, it offers up some delicious gins and apple brandies that would have been at home in Baltimore a hundred years ago. The Charles Street Apple Brandy is made from house-fermented local apple juice and apple peels and pomace smoked over oak and cherry woods. BWC also kicks out a pretty great ginger apple liqueur made from apple juice and molasses, but the house staple, for now, is the 100-proof Baltimore Shot Tower Gin.
