Jinji Fraser’s raw cacao treats kinda ruin all other chocolate. Made and sold in a tiny stall in the Belvedere Square Market co-owned and operated with her father Guy Fraser, her pots de crème, date poppers, pralines, and endless variations on truffles and barks are simply unmatched. As if we really needed any more convincing to love Jinji’s chocolate, all of her creations are vegan, gluten-free, and ultra-rich in antioxidants—in part due to keeping the cacao “raw”—and use almost entirely locally-sourced ingredients with the exception of the cacao, which comes from a carefully selected farm in Ecuador. The flavors can be daring: Our first Jinji experience was a garlic truffle—now we know even garlic can make a scrumptious dessert.
