A map posted from Gov. Larry Hogan’s Twitter account on June 25 boasted $2 billion in highway spending across the state of Maryland, with projects in every county. Except Baltimore City, which will not get the east-west light rail that has been in the works for more than a decade. But not only was the Red Line omitted: The city itself was completely missing from the map, as if the Inner Harbor had swallowed the home of 625,000 people whole. The governor’s staff quickly deleted the tweet in which the map originally appeared, and said it was a mistake. But the message was clear.
