Best Late-Night Dining: Ruby 8 Noodles and Sushi

Horseshoe Casino, 1525 Russell St., (443) 931-4580, caesars.com/horseshoe-baltimore/restaurants/ruby-8

Baltimore restaurants are getting better and better every day in every way, but right now the options for the peckish night owl are still kinda thin, which serves to explain the slightly unusual location of our choice for a midnight (or 2 a.m., or 5 a.m.) meal, a location with ample free parking, a location where you can get a drink, a real one, 24/7, and gorge on a solid sushi selection and perfectly prepared Asian specialties with lots of vegetarian options. Our current favorites are the watercress with garlic ($9.88), kimchi fried rice with Spam in it ($15.88), and the beef chow fun ($17.88). One caveat: There’s a whole casino between the parking lot and the restaurant, and your judgment may be impaired after satiating your late-night appetite, so be careful not to lose your shirt on the way out.
