Best Conflict of Interest: Jayne Miller

When your significant other is prosecuting the biggest case the city has seen in years, what do you do? If you are Jayne Miller, you do your job—which is to scoop all the other reporters regularly on developments in the case. Miller has been so good for so long (and long before her relationship with Janice Bledsoe, a deputy state’s attorney in Marilyn Mosby’s office) that no one can credibly accuse her of unfair advantage just based on her reporting. But she did announce she was “backing away” from the case a few days after the relationship was publicized.
