There are some weekend mornings where bloody marys aren’t a choice, but a necessary means of survival. Unlike mimosas, bloodys are quite easy to screw up—many a watered-down tomato-vodka slurry has ruined our day. So it was awesome when we discovered B&O’s Bloody Bay, a bona fide beast. A thick and spicy house-made mix of tomato and spices makes a solid foundation for the boozy addition of Old Bay-infused vodka and, get this, 10-year-old Laphroaig single-malt scotch. While we usually steer clear of flavored vodkas, the Old Bay version makes for the perfect salty counterpoint to the balanced smokiness that’s imparted from the scotch. It’s a brunch game-changer.
