Best Beer: Old Pro Gose from Union Craft Brewing

1700 Union Ave., (410) 467-0290, unioncraftbrewing.com

There’s something about this super-tart beer with a touch of salt that seems to go perfectly with the hot, muggy months of summer in Charm City. Sour and tart beers have been gaining popularity in beer-snob circles for the past couple of years but they tend to be pretty polarizing: You either love ’em or loudly proclaim “this isn’t beer.” But somehow the drinkability of this summer seasonal has bridged that gap, as we’ve seen people all over our fair city throwing back the festive golf-themed cans, be it at steamy outdoor events such as Artscape and Bike Party or within the cool confines of the city’s air-conditioned bars. We recommend it for your next brunch, as it also makes for the perfect beermosa.
