They are dedicated to their art, and love working at a high-end, up-and-rising art school. They did not love getting paid very small beans for doing so, nor their administration’s attitude that they were both afterthought and expendable. MICA’s adjunct instructors organized for better pay and working conditions and won the right to a contract. So far, the world has not ended. This could be a lesson to others who work in seemingly prestigious institutions without fair compensation.
