City Paper

As a journalist, how do you cover a story where your colleagues at another outlet are forced to flee their own building and report from the street after a man claiming to be God rammed a truck through their lobby? You just tell it like it is. This perfect 44-word Sun lede so nails it: “A man who claimed to be God rammed a stolen landscaping truck into the WMAR television station Tuesday, according to police and employees, barricading himself inside the building for several hours as journalists scrambled to cover their own story from the suburban streets outside.” It’s even more pleasing when read aloud. This is why we have journalism—if anyone else told you this happened, you’d never believe it.
