As chairman of Baltimore’s Liquor Board, Steve Fogleman earned a reputation as a funny, beer-and-Morrissey-and-tennis-loving Twitter junkie (@BaltoBeerBaron). In May, he left the Board to accept an appointment as an Orphans’ Court judge. But in June’s primary election, Fogleman came in fourth out of six candidates for the court’s three positions, finding himself out of a gig. Luckily, City Paper had already approached Fogleman about writing a column to share his expertise with readers, and City Paper’s Baltimore Beer Baron column launched on June 30, a week after the election. We encourage other election-losing politicians to think of City Paper as your golden parachute. Give us a shout!
