Dylan’s Oyster Cellar might not be entirely responsible for the fact that Ryleigh’s Oysters is opening up in Mount Vernon, but it certainly played a role. This pop-up, which just closed down a few weeks ago, in the Hatch “incubator” around the corner from Dooby’s was a godsend. It served nothing but oysters, cured fish such as anchovies and sardines, and beer, wine, and liquor. The two-buck-a-shuck Sundays are a perfect time to get a Bloody Mary, a can of Duckpin, and about three or four dozen oysters. This place nearly killed us when we were doing our weed reviews for City Paper’s Guide to the High Life. We just couldn’t stop eating.
