Jimmy’s is so Baltimore, Willie Don Schaefer ate breakfast there every day for 30 years. His order—scrambled eggs, hash browns, rye toast, and hot tea—is now “The Schaefer.” And the locals and tourists who frequently pack the Fells Point institution love it for similar no-frills platters of pancakes, omelets, burgers, gravy fries, and Greek specialties such as the giant slices of spinach pie and souvlaki. But the secret weapon is the beer: 16-ounce drafts of Bud and Yuengling set you back $2.25 and are available from opening time at 5 a.m. every day—a boon to nightshift workers, all-night partiers, and hard-core alcoholics. They close at 4 p.m. on most days and 6 p.m. on weekends, so get your dinner someplace else. Jimmy’s is for breakfast.
