Best Reason to Leave Baltimore

2014 was a banner year for Charm City’s infrastructure. A large chunk of 26th Street straight-up broke off into a train tunnel below street level, a massive bit of deterioration that crews are scrambling to fix for the foreseeable future. In two separate instances, massive rain storms caused massive fuckups, first flooding the Jones Falls—destroying stores and offices in Meadow Mills and causing other damage along the way—and then causing 12 million gallons of sewage to seep into the Patapsco River. It feels like one false move and all of Baltimore will collapse into the harbor and float toward the ocean.
