Festivals that happen every year can sometimes become predictable, or just plain boring. We could all do without another giant turkey leg, funnel cake, and $7 snowball anyway. A festival that has been steadily rising is Baltimore’s Caribbean Carnival. Located in Clifton Park, the festival’s first day consists of a delightfully vibrant parade where masqueraders in colorful, often painstakingly created costumes that represent their respective islands “play mas” and decorated floats travel from The Alameda to Clifton Park. If that’s not your thing, there’s a host of amazing authentic food from all over the Caribbean and live music all day in the park.
