Single Carrot Theatre, 2600 N. Howard St., (443) 844-9253, singlecarrot.com

Single Carrot’s production of Václav Havel’s critique of bureaucracy and conformity was everything you want in a play: It was thought-provoking, funny, fun, well-acted, and well-staged. Although the play was written in 1965, it could not be more appropriate for this age of government shutdowns and corporate personhood. Not surprisingly, the play was the company’s most successful production to date, a great step forward for the ambitious company that moved to its sleek new digs in Remington.
